The Westcoast Reader and many others were happy to volunteer at this year’s Raise-a-Reader event.
We had a great time, and only got a little bit soggy!
The Vancouver Sun Raise-a-Reader Day raised over $20,000!

Learn to speak the Okanagan Language at the Westbank First Nation Sncəwips Heritage Museum.

Watch National Film Board (NFB) Animated Short Films for Children
There will be 5 fun and colourful animated short films:
The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse, The Feather and the Elephant, The Lion and the Mouse, Draw Me a Song and Peep and the Big Wide World.

Help carve the Freda Diesing Honour Totem Pole.
Experience the joy of carving on a real 40-foot totem pole!
This pole is dedicated to the memory of Freda Diesing, a well-known female pioneer.
Joe Mandur Jr. is inviting visitors to his artist studio in Terrace, BC to experience a few moments of carving this totem pole.
