The first Family Day holiday in BC was in 2013.

Family Day in BC is on the second Monday of February.

Other provinces have their holiday on the third Monday of February.

Change the day?

A lot of people want BC to change the day.

They want BC Family Day to be on the third Monday of February.

Family Day 2016

It was a sunny day.

Many families took the day off.

Families went to many activities.

They met at parks, ski hills, community centres and homes.

They shared food and fun.

Family Day 2016 was the same day as the start of Chinese New Year.

Chinese New Year is also called Lunar New Year.

The first day of Chinese New Year 2016 was wonderful.

That means the whole year will be wonderful.
