Level 2
Kaillie Humphries, 29,
is a Canadian bobsledder.
She is also an Olympic champion.
Kaillie has won two gold medals.
The sport
Women’s boblsed became
a Winter Olympic sport in 2002.
It is a two-woman event.
Men’s bobsled became
an Olympic sport in 1924.
But men race on two-man and
four-man sleds.
A change
Kaillie wanted
to make bobsledding
the same for men and women.
So she pushed for change.
In September 2014,
Kaillie got her wish.
Now men and women can race together
in two and four-person bobsleds.
It also means women’s teams
can race against men’s teams.
