Shortbread cookies – easy recipe

Shortbread cookies are a treat at Christmas.
Traditional shortbread has three ingredients:  sugar, butter and flour.

  1. 1/2 cup of softened butter (125 mL)
  2. Add 1/2 cup of powdered sugar (125 mL)
    Mix together.
  3. Add 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla (if you have it) 
  4. Add 1 cup of flour (125 mL)
    Blend.
  5. Scoop cookies on cookie sheet (see video).
  6. Flatten cookies with the bottom of a glass.

Bake at 325°F (163°C) for 10-15 minutes.
When cooked, the shortbread is a light golden brown.
