The Westcoast Reader now accepts submissions from teachers and students for both our print and online editions. We welcome your input and we are looking forward to reading your creations!

Stories must contain the author’s name and/or institution name, email address, mailing address and a telephone number.
Due to limited space in our print edition, submissions of 150 words or less will be considered for publication. Stories about individual readers of 100 words or less will be considered.
Photographs. Photographs must be high-resolution: for the print edition, at least 200 DPI.
Photos help “tell the story”, so we encourage you to submit at least one photograph with your story. Remember to include the photographer’s name so that we can credit him or her.
Please do not send scans, pdf’s or photos in a Word document.
Deadlines. Stories for our print edition must be submitted at least one to two months prior to the publishing date.
We are flexible with dates for our online edition.
Although we would like to include more submissions in our newspaper, please keep in mind that we have very limited space (only four pages). Ideally, we would like to include one teacher or student submission each month.
The Westcoast Reader reserves the right to edit, condense or reject any contribution. Writers whose stories are being considered for publication will be contacted by email.
