Level 1

Wilbur has a good life now.
He lives at a dog day care
in Vancouver.
The day care is called
Canine Adventure Den.

His owner, Kirsty MacGregor,
found Wilbur on the Internet.
Wilbur lived in Edmonton, Alberta.
He was sick, small and weak.
Wilbur weighed only eight kilograms (kg).

Kirsty “fell in love” with Wilbur.
She wanted to keep him.
Her husband said,
“‘Don’t do it!'”

Kirsty took Wilbur home.
Today he weighs 34 kg.

Pig 2

Pigs are “so smart,” says Kirsty.
He’s like “a four-year-old child.”
Wilbur eats everything.
And he opens everything – drawers and backpacks.

Outside, Wilbur plays with the dogs.
Inside, Wilbur loves to sit
on the sofa and watch TV.

The day care also helps
rescued* animals, such as
turtles and rabbits.
Soon the day care will take cats.
