Making hearts

The Level 2 LINC class at Windsor Neighbourhood Learning Centre is learning online. The students are staying home to stop the spread of COVID-19.

Hearts in the windows

The students saw hearts in their neighbours’ windows. They wondered why. Their teachers gave them a story about the hearts. The class learned that the hearts were made to show support for essential workers.

Saying “thank you”

The students wanted to say “thank you” to the essential workers in their neighbourhoods. They learned how to make their own hearts. They wrote messages on them. Then, they put the hearts in their windows.

Make your own heart

Making a heart for your window is easy.

Here is what you do:

  1. Fold a piece of paper in half.
  2. Draw half a heart on the paper.
  3. Cut out the heart.
  4. Open the heart.
  5. Write a message.
  6. Tape the heart on your window.
