A milk jug greenhouse is a great way to reuse empty and clean milk jugs.
When it is too cold to plant seeds in the ground, you can start growing them in a milk jug greenhouse.
What you need:
- clean, plastic milk jug
- knife
- seeds
- soil
- duct tape
- water
What you do:
- Cut around the middle of the jug. Do not cut the part under the handle.
- Use the knife to make four to six small holes in the bottom of the jug.
- Fill the bottom of the jug with soil. Leave about an inch of space at the top.
- Plant your seeds in the soil.
- Water the soil until it is moist.
- Put the top of the jug back on. Seal the cut edges with duct tape.
- Place the jug outside in a sunny spot. If the soil looks dry, water it. You can transplant your seedlings into your garden when the weather warms up.
